Make Money

Do you know that you can make money by testing games that have not yet been released to the market? The video and computer game industry has become a very lucrative business that amounts to more than $60 billion in sales per year. Those who are interested in playing video games could also make some profit by working as game testers.

Game companies are looking for gamers who can test their new products before their release to prevent customers' dissatisfaction with the games if there are any bugs. This situation could result in a loss of millions of dollars and may even damage the company's reputation. Thus, they are willing to pay gamers to check the games first, and have the chance to weed out those flaws.

In return, game testers are paid about $30 per hour to test the games. They can even work part-time and they can choose their own work schedules. Additionally, the job does not even require them to have any kind of work experience or a certain educational background. All they need is a passion for playing games, and they could be earning some money playing video or computer games.

An important requirement, however, is that you should be willing to record the various details of when and how a certain bug in the program occurred. These glitches could prevent some people from fully enjoying the game. In addition, you may not like a job where you have to keep playing a certain part of a game just to test whether the bug that you have discovered has been completely repaired.

Overall, the job of a game tester is a profitable one. Where else could you find a job where you are paid just to play games when in most companies, the playing of games is strictly prohibited?

New Video Game

Every game enthusiast wants the newest on the market and the video game industry will put out plenty of games every month for you to choose from. Not all are from the same ages, or the same genres but they are always producing more games for the marketplace.

Go Through New Video Game Reviews

Like any industry there is plenty of reviews that you can find online and in magazines and also new release information for the coming months. Using the internet you can find a wealth of information as these games are usually distributed to game reviewers before the actual product release in order to generate a buzz. Even after the release there are reviews by people who have played them. This will give you a good feel of whether the game may be worth the purchase or not.

It is also recommended to go through several reviews for you to get an objective perspective of the particular game.

Also, one good way to test the game is to rent it from one of the online or in-store places. Then if you find that it is that you are interested in go ahead and make the purchase.

The Types of New Video Game

The industry is trying to reach a wide variety of markets and a wide variety of game players. They have specialized teams set up for each specific market whether it is based on age or genre of the game.

So research, rent, purchase is always a good method before purchasing a new video game!

Lateral Thinking Puzzles

Lateral thinking puzzles (aka situation puzzles) are strange situations where you are given a small amount of information and then have to try to figure out what is going on by asking questions. They work best as a group game. One person acts as quizmaster. Others fire in questions. The quizmaster can only answer - yes, no or irrelevant. The puzzles are great fun and at the same time they teach techniques for questioning, testing assumptions, using your imagination and piecing together clues. Probably the best known puzzle is the man in the elevator:

A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor to go to work or to go shopping. When he returns he takes the elevator to the seventh floor and walks up the stairs to reach his apartment on the tenth floor. He hates walking so why does he do it?

If you do not know this one then you can find the answer in my list of classic puzzles on the rec.puzzles archive site. I have written 18 books of lateral thinking puzzles (many co-authored with Des MacHale). The books have proved to be popular both with adults and children. They have been used in schools, on training courses, as an after-dinner game and as a great way to entertain any small group that likes a mental challenge. Over 2 million copies of the books have been sold and they have been translated into many languages. They are available at Amazon.

There are more details on my website below together with a selection of favorite puzzles and a link to the infamous Wally Test - a collection of mean, low, trick questions. Why not try it?

Best Video Game Cheats

Almost since the invention of the video game there has been a way to enter a video game cheat code. Anyone who has played Contra on Nintendo can probably recite the cheat code for unlimited life. It is ok that you just recited the code in your head! These are the types of video game cheat codes that are available -- unlimited health, unlimited ammo, unlocking hidden levels and even ways to skip levels.

Evolution of Video Game Cheats

At first these cheats had to be entered into the game before game play began or with a special cartridge, such as Game Genie. There were also video game cheats that needed to be discovered within the game play, sometimes you were given hints and sometimes you discovered them by accident. Either way they changed the way the game was played. Now cheats are more interactive and are considered more like bonuses than actual cheats, they may ask you to enter a code or you may be rewarded. There has always been a certain order. In which these cheats can be used and game creators have embraced the effort of game players to hunt for the cheats.

Where Are the Cheats

There are many websites, magazines, and published guides available to game players. The off line guides can be found at gaming stores, department stores, and even some video stores that rent video games. You can even subscribe to magazines that provide the cheats for the most recent games and some of the classics. Websites number in the hundreds if not thousands; some are dedicated to specific games while others cover a broad range of games and systems.

While searching for these video game cheats the only thing to be cautious of is that you have the correct game system. Different codes are setup for different systems based on the system setup.

Aion Release Imminent

I like many others enjoy playing MMO. But as with so many games unless new content is continually being added they soon become the same old grind.

Having played World of Warcraft since its launch even this game is starting to slowly loose its appeal, sad but true.

That's why when I heard that there is to be a release of a new MMO to hit the market on the 25th September 2009, it sparked my interest, and it's name is Aion.. For anyone out there who is not familiar with Aion it is set in the Fantasy world of Atriea.

Having looked at a couple of reviews this could be the game of 2009. Although there seems to be a lot of the usual things within Aion, the sort of traits you would expect to find in most MMO's, like crafting, character customisation, titles, in game rewards, but Aion does promise to bring some new facets to the table, such as aerial combat. Can't wait to give that a bash.

Now I can not claim how good this game is, as I have yet to give it a spin, but from the hype around its launch it could breathe some new life into the MMO market. Oh incidentally the graphics Aion look stunning

So if your looking for a change of online game and something a little different then give Aion Tower of Eternity a go.

So until the 25th guess I will just have to wait patiently. If you want more info take a look at Aion-Release some good info on what to expect.
